PEER REVIEW PROCESS
The peer review process can generally be summarized into ten stages. JoDA Journal of Digital Architecture, in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) Central Java, is a Double-Blind Peer-Reviewed and Open Access Journal, Below is an outline of the typical process:
- Manuscript Submission
The author submits the manuscript to the selected journal via an online submission system. - Initial Editorial Assessment
The journal editor conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope and meets basic quality standards. - Plagiarism Screening
The manuscript is screened for similarity to other works using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. - Reviewer Assignment
The editor assigns one or more reviewers who possess relevant expertise in the subject area to evaluate the manuscript. - Peer Review by Experts
Reviewers critically assess the manuscript in terms of methodology, scientific contribution, data validity, and relevance. - Reviewer Feedback
Reviewers provide a detailed report along with a recommendation—accept, revise (minor or major), or reject—supported by constructive comments. - Editorial Decision
The editor considers the reviewers’ feedback and makes a final decision, which is then communicated to the author. - Author Revisions
If revisions are requested, the author addresses the reviewers’ comments and submits a revised version of the manuscript. - Further Review (If Necessary)
The revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for a second evaluation, depending on the editor’s judgment. - Publication
Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes final editing (including proofreading and formatting) before publication.
